Air 3 Max

The Nike Air Classic BW is getting all kinds of love for its 25th anniversary. A shoe once cemented firmly between two other classic visible Air models in the Air Max 90 and Air Max 95, the 1991 Tinker silhouette has stood the test of time thanks to a devoted fanbase overseas and renewed interest here in the states. For the unfamiliar, the BW stands for ‘Big Window’ in reference to the oversized visible air unit which was, at the time, the largest Air Max unit to be featured on a running model. Nike Sportswear has updated the sleek design with the Nike Air Classic BW Ultra in an effort to shed some extra weight. A mesh upper is fused with synthetic overlays for a sleek design complete with a new vector-like graphic that’s sure to turn heads. The debut colorway features a timeless combination of Black and University Red for good measure. What do you think of the look? The pair will be available soon from Nikestore for $135 USD.

Nike Sportswear is bringing back the Nike Air Classic BW in a number of ways throughout 2016, as the 1991 retro running model is celebrating its 25th anniversary in style. The Air Max BW was a major success in the early 90s, transitioning from a functional distance running offering to being a lifestyle go-to the world over. The Nike Air Classic BW Ultra is a slightly modernized update featuring a slimmed down outsole to shed some of the added bulk for a smoother, more comfortable ride. NSW will be updating the silhouette with four new colorways, each featuring a monochromatic dominating shade of either seafoam green, university red, navy, or black. No word yet on when this quartet will arrive at stores, but check out our fullrelease date page for the latest look at what’s in store for March.

It looks like 2016 is going to be a big year for the Nike Air Classic BW, one of the brand’s most loved vintage Air Max silhouettes. In addition to the iconic “Persian Violet” colorway returning, Nike Sportswear is also taking the shoe on the ‘Ultra’ route, with a modernized and minimized redesign, which we see here today in a vibrant red colorway. Check out the Air Classic BW Ultra in detail here, and expect them to start hitting retailers in March.
